VCBO Architecture | 12 Weeks | Paid
VCBO Architecture is offering a structured, hands-on paid summer internship for Architecture, Interior Design, and Planning students who want real project experience—not just observation. Interns work alongside practicing architects, planners, and designers, gain technical skills, and rotate through multiple market sectors.
The Basics
- 12-week paid summer internship
- 32-hour work week
- Every Friday off
- Competitive hourly pay + $1,500 signing bonus
- Access to professional workstations, 3D printers, and modeling materials
How the Summer Works
Week 1: Boot Camp
- Revit training
- VCBO standards and workflows
- Building code and LEED overview
- Introduction to active VCBO projects
Weeks 2–11: Sector Rotation
Interns rotate through four sectors (3 weeks each):
- Civic & Recreation
- Healthcare
- Higher Education
- K–12 Education
Weekly rhythm:
- Mondays: focused project and design work
- Tues–Thurs: embedded with sector teams on active projects
Week 12: Final Presentation
Interns present their work to the office in a final design review. Presentation format is student-selected (digital, print, or models).
