VCBO Architecture welcomed Julee Attig, CPSM, this March as the new director of marketing and business development, a senior role at the Salt Lake City-based firm.

Leveraging more than two decades of marketing experience in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry, Attig will advance VCBO’s business strategy, support strategic initiatives, and maintain relationships with key partners. She will also manage the firm’s marketing team, supervising marketing pursuits, content creation, and communications.

“Working in the industry, VCBO has been a client and partner over the years so it’s cool to work with them from this new perspective,” Attig said. “We have a great new team and are excited to hit the ground running!”

Throughout her impressive career, Attig has honed her skills at multiple local, national, and international A/E/C consulting firms, though primarily working with clients in Utah and the Intermountain West. Prior to joining VCBO, Attig worked as a business development associate at Michael Baker International.

Combined with her refined skills, she brings numerous industry relationships and a forward-thinking marketing approach. As VCBO approaches its 50-year anniversary, Attig will provide valuable leadership to the firm’s thriving future.

“It became clear that strategizing for VCBO’s ongoing growth required another accomplished member to join our team — someone with an open mind and proven industry expertise — and Julee was the obvious choice,” said Melissa Wood, VCBO chief operations officer. “Her reputation is unparalleled, and we are incredibly lucky to have her on board.”

Attig graduated from Brigham Young University in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and has worked as a marketing specialist in the industry since. Deeply passionate about her work and the impact of A/E/C, she has volunteered her time on several boards and committees, including the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Utah Chapter, the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Utah, and the City of South Salt Lake Planning Commission. A recognized leader among her peers, Attig is also a former SMPS Utah Marketer of the Year.

As a marketer, Attig is passionate about connecting with the local A/E/C community. Throughout the course of her career, she has built cherished relationships with other industry professionals, which she continues to foster. As a leader, Attig values teamwork and comradery. Her positive energy and commitment to success extends from the relationships she builds to the projects she contributes to.

“I like being in the A/E/C community and I care about connections with locals,” Julee said. “It’s fun to see a project from pursuit, to seeing it built, and then people use it. It means something to drive down the street and see a project you’re part of — even if it's a small part.”
