Medical Planner

VCBO Architecture, LLC is seeking an experienced Medical Planner to join our Healthcare Group in our Salt Lake City office. VCBO has a passion for excellence and a strong group of people who respect each other and enjoy working together.


Essential Functions

  1. Demonstrate experience in clinical processes across major inpatient and outpatient departments.
  2. Possess a good understanding of the differences in institutional, ambulatory and business occupancy environments.
  3. Experience working with end-users to outline process flows and critical adjacencies of clinical spaces.
  4. Experience leading medical planning process within the design team to create department floor plan concepts reflective of operations.
  5. Manage deliverables for the medical planning team within the greater project deliveries.
  6. Serve as main point of contact for the client on planning issues.
  7. Demonstrate effective problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients and employees.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.


Required Education and Experience

Bachelor or Master's of Architecture required. 5 years experience in healthcare planning. Licensed Architect (or the ability to obtain a Utah license) required. Strong knowledge of Autodesk Revit Architecture and SketchUp. Organized process and clear communication that enables collaboration. Strong presentation,c ommunication, organizational and team building skills. Previous Healthcare experience required. Experience managing teams. Strong marketing skills with ability to participate in the proposal process. Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects.
